A Life Cycle Engineering Perspective on Biocomposites as a Solution for a Sustainable Recovery
نویسندگان
چکیده
Composite materials, such as carbon fibre reinforced epoxies, provide more efficient structures than conventional materials through light-weighting, but the associated high energy demand during production can be extremely detrimental to environment. Biocomposites are an emerging material class with potential reduce a product’s through-life environmental impact relative wholly synthetic composites. As most there challenges and opportunities adoption of biocomposites at each stage life cycle. Life Cycle Engineering is readily available tool enabling qualification performance, financial impact, which incorporated in conceptual development phase. Designers engineers beginning actively include environment their workflow, allowing them play significant role future sustainability strategies. This review will introduce outline how concept offer support Design for Environment, followed by discussion advantages disadvantages throughout

Life Cycle Engineering and Sustainable Manufacturing
When Frosch and Gallopolous published their seminal article “Strategies for Manufacturing” in 1989, they signaled a central concern with manufacturing in the field of industrial ecology (IE). They and other early pioneers in the field brought an interest in examining how industry could leverage its technological prowess to improve environmental outcomes. In North America, this interest emerged,...

متن کاملObject Orientation as a Promising Perspective for Life Cycle Models
Object orientation challenges the area of software process modelling in two ways. The rst challenge is to deene process models which take into account the peculiarities of development projects that follow an object oriented method in one or all phases. The other challenge is to take advantage of the added value of object orientation, namely modularization and reuse, for process modelling itself...
